A fundamental aspect of the good news of the gospel is the message of liberty. As President Joseph F. Smith said, “The Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of freedom; the gospel of the Son of God is the gospel of liberty.” Men of God, both ancient and modern, have spoken on this issue repeatedly. This book analyzes what liberty is and how it applies to government.
This morning I watched a video called Loose Change, 2nd edition, a documentary exposing the many fallacies and cover-ups of the government’s official 9/11 report. It is 1.5 hours long, and WELL worth the watch.
I emailed the link to the video to a few friends and acquaintances. Later in the day, I received a reply from one person I had sent it to, asking a few questions. Their email is as follows, and I would like to address the questions he asks.
Thank you. I watched the entire movie. Unbelievable. They introduced some new material I had not seen since Loose Change. How can we get the word out? Why are politicians from both parties ignoring it? And, why does Utah give Bush the highest approval ratings?
How can we get the word out?
I think it is first more important to answer the question: “Why should we get the word out?” Once we understand the need, we can then form a strategy for the “how”. Why should we get the word out? Why should we care if 9/11 really was a government job? What good does it do me to know or care about that?
I think the best way to answer these questions is with D&C 88:78-81:
Teach ye diligently and my grace shall attend you, that you may be instructed more perfectly in theory, in principle, in doctrine, in the law of the gospel, in all things that pertain unto the kingdom of God, that are expedient for you to understand;
Of things both in heaven and in the earth, and under the earth; things which have been, things which are, things which must shortly come to pass; things which are at home, things which are abroad; the wars and the perplexities of the nations, and the judgments which are on the land; and a knowledge also of countries and of kingdoms—
That ye may be prepared in all things when I shall send you again to magnify the calling whereunto I have called you, and the mission with which I have commissioned you.
Behold, I sent you out to testify and warn the people, and it becometh every man who hath been warned to warn his neighbor.
We have been commanded by modern revelation to study history and current events, both with an effort of understanding and discerning “things which must shortly come to pass”. I would argue that we must seek to learn the correct history of things, not the one the government would like us to blindly accept. We are also commanded to study things about our own country, other countries, wars, perplexities of the nations, judgments on the land… get the drift?
But why? “That [we] may be prepared in all things”. We know that “if [we] are prepared [we] shall not fear” (D&C 38:30).
But what is the call to action? What are we to do when we have discovered a new truth, or learned something of value? He who hath been warned must warn his neighbor. Revealed truths, both spiritual and temporal, were never intended to be bottled up in the dark abyss of one’s own mind. They are to be shared, taught, and even shouted from the rooftops.
That is why I am as political as I am. I don’t find it fun. I find it downright frustrating. Sometimes my blood boils when I learn of things the government has done, or is currently doing. But it’s not enough to just read it in a book, study and research it, and then not talk about it. Revelation says that I must warn my neighbor.
It is “impossible for a man to be saved in ignorance” (D&C 131:6). I would argue that being “saved” refers just as much to our spiritual salvation as it does to our temporal salvation. If I had the desire, I could list the numerous ways the neocon movement plans to infringe upon our liberties in the future and hinder our temporal salvation, but I will leave that to the inquiring mind to research or inquire. But we cannot be saved in ignorance. We must not remain apathetic to these issues. The sad fact is that the majority of people who read the first few paragraphs of this post probably were bored, disinterested, or (dare I say it?) apathetic, and declined to read on. That is a big problem.
If you feel you are ignorant or uninformed in this area, please, please watch Loose Change, 2nd edition. It is an excellent documentary that will enlighten you and raise additional questions for your pondering and research.
I hope that the above scriptures illustrate the importance of why we need to get the word out. So now we must figure out how.
The best way, I feel, is to simiply warn your neighbor. Email those you know, those you work with, those you care about, and explain to them what you’ve learned. Send them the link to the Loose Change video.
It is somewhat disconcerting that so many people write off so-called conspiracy “theories” as an irksome habit of UFO believers, drug users, and hippies. That is not the case anymore. There is a large community seeking to expose the 9/11 myth and inform people. Yet the average person will pay no attention to such “theories”, seeking to distance themselves from it as an LDS person would to anti-mormon literature. This must stop. We must inform people, openly discuss and debate the topic, and show how weak and fallacious the official 9/11 story really is.
Why are politicians from both parties ignoring it?
I think this question is relatively easy to answer. The short answer is that questioning the official story has become political suicide. So, everybody falls in line behind Bush’s doctrine, rank and file, like lemmings marching to their demise.
And example to demonstrate how this political suicide takes effect is from Dr. Bob Bowman. Bowman was a panelist at the recent American Scholars Symposium: 9/11 and The Neo-Con Agenda. He is running for Congress in District 15 of Florida as a democrat. During the symposium, Bowman discussed how his opponent had openly ridiculed him in the media for harboring such beliefs towards the 9/11 events. His opponent was essentially trying to portray his opponent as a liberal wacko and crazy conspiracy theorist that could not be trusted in office.
Indeed, even President Bush, at his address to the United Nations two months after 9/11, said:
Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories concerning the attacks of September the 11th, malicious lies that attempt to shift the blame away from the terrorists themselves, away from the guilty.
It is amazing how politicians will attempt to discredit and stigmatize the efforts and beliefs of those who oppose them, all in an attempt to secure their own power and persuade people to believe what they say, rather than what their opponent says. Bush made use of a very smart political tactic when offering this statement, effectively scorning all conspiracy “theories”.
And, why does Utah give Bush the highest approval ratings?
Behold, verily I say unto you, that there are many spirits which are false spirits, which have gone forth in the earth, deceiving the world.
And also Satan hath sought to deceive you, that he might overthrow you.
But wo unto them that are deceivers and hypocrites, for, thus saith the Lord, I will bring them to judgment.
Behold, verily I say unto you, there are hypocrites among you, who have deceived some, which has given the adversary power; but behold such shall be reclaimed; (D&C 50:2-3,6-7)
Bush and his associates aren’t going to come out and admit that this was a cover up. They’re not going to talk about all the other things going on in our government that are and will be suppressing our liberties. Their tactics: Deceive. Shift blame. Sleight of hand. Point fingers. Shift blame.
Utah is the most conservative state. Appealing to his party’s largest base, of course Bush is going to play the strong, perseverant hero seeking to invoke God’s name in an effort to erradicate terrorism. Utahns then eat up his words, which reminds me a lot of the abundant examples in the Book of Mormon when somebody in power would use flattery to sway his people, and get them to follow along in his evil plans.
I’m curious how many people have read this entire post. I’m curious how many people care about this kind of thing? Does it matter if 9/11 was a conspiracy? OF COURSE it does. Wake up and smell the thermate.
You’ve been warned. Now, warn your neighbor.
