Thanks to James for sending me a link to some compelling satellite photography from Darfur, showing imagery from before and after genocide has taken place in each village.

The argument that some people make that we’re in Iraq to spread democracy is often an ignorant one. Certainly if that argument were true, we would likewise be in 50 other places that merit our interventionist attention, most especially Darfur.

I have a suggestion on how to resolve the conflict in Darfur and end the genocide.

Darfur needs to strike oil. Only then will they attract the attention of the elites in the western world, who will then convince the populace that they’re going in to save the day and protect the little guy.

Time to start drilling.

Thanks for that article, Kelly. Nothing surprising there, unfortunately. Just more of the government’s dollar hegemony
