Fake IDs to Save Your Life

Fake IDs. For a long time they have been the staple of the underage teenager hoping to buy booze, sneak into clubs, and perform other mischievous activity. But they haven’t always been used for such roguish purposes.

They were also a hot commodity in WWII, for people wanting to change their name to be less indicative of their nationality, be it Jewish or otherwise.

The trend is coming back. Some Iraqis are obtaining Fake IDs to change their name, in an attempt to obtain easier passage through certain territories, prevent abuse and persecution, and ultimately save their life.

It’s a sad world we live in where you have to alter your identity to escape persecution and tyranny. My heart goes out to the law-abiding people in Iraq, and others throughout the world, who must do what they can to constantly avoid such peril.
