Aloha,

As always, I'm enlightened by your words. I've wondered why things happen and for some reason the Plan of Salvation always pops into my mind. There always seems to be a purpose to why thing happen in the world, although mankind may not always realize it. I really appreciate you for the work you have done. I've been frustrated with searching for people who feel the same way I do about our relationship with religion and politics. Although, I'm still searching for a way that I might be a hand of the Lord in advocating our agency to obtain effective autonomy I find comfort knowing that I am not alone. I don't mean to blabber so much, but I get so excited trying to say what is in my heart, that I don't think I make sense sometimes. We are ordinary men and women, but I think that God demands extraordianry things of us, not that we should feel fear but feel thankful that God would put so much trust in us. The future is in our hands. May we do something right before it ends.

Thanks, Connor...an informative talk and a great testimony, too

I randomly surfed into your blog ( Ron Paul link) and have been lurking for awhile- LDS guy in Alberta, Canada here. You have a great site here and have an exceptionally well rounded sphere of interests.

Back to gratitude...we in North America, even the relatively less well off...have so much...and we waste so much in resources and time...and then whine about our lack. As your talk suggested, gratitude is the first of the virtues: without it, we don't truly benefit from the value of the other blessings in our life. I was reminded of that in my ward Primary program today...the sweet and simple testimonies and singing voices of young children brought more than one tear to my eye, and how I could be doing MUCH more with what the Lord has given me.

Thanks again, and keep on in your quest to get LDS ( and anyone else here ) people THINKING more deeply about the issues you hi-light.

Connor, just wow. Thank-you for that talk. I know it sounds corny to say this, but I found real value, real spiritual sustenance in it--almost like a conference talk. Maybe it's just what I needed right now, regardless, thank-you. I feel sincere gratitude both for and as a result of your words.
