Kissingering the Pope

Word has it that the Pope has invited Henry Kissinger to be his papal political adviser, and Kissinger has accepted.

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiinteresting.

If true, there is speculation on which issues Kissinger would advise the Holy Father. Relations with Islam, Palestine and Israel, and Iraq — Kissinger has been critical of the conduct of the war but opposes a quick withdrawal — are likely to be high up on the agenda.

It has also been speculated that, in view of the Muslim hostility to Benedict’s recent Regensburg speech, Kissinger might provide advice on dealing with an increasingly fractious Islamic world.

Looks like the Pope needs somebody to tell him what he can and can’t say, thus hoping to prevent further worldwide mass riots. Whatever happened to God-led inspiration and divine authority..? :)

That page was pretty entertaining. They aim to make it sound like Mormons (and our missionaries) are “out to get” Catholics, galavanting around from home to home in an accusatory, demeaning attitude.

Even the Prophet has a PR department

A PR department is one thing, a political consultant is another..
