There is such an arrogance to assume that we, as Americans, have all the answers for other nations. Especially a nation whose culture and history is so varied from our own. The Republicans will lose the Senate and Congress. People are showing their dissatisfaction though the ballot box! I read a commentary recently where an author gave his opinion that the armada being sent to the Persian Gulf may be less "November surprise" and more "get things done before there is an unfriendly congress and wars will be more difficult to start." That armada, by the way, was scheduled to arrive in the Gulf last saturday. In any case, it seems like we are about to embark on another war with the potential extinction of the species of the human race at risk. The Saddam timing thing is pretty flagrant.
