Hollywood in general, the music indistry, tv, movies–it is chilling to think that at least some of these people are aware of the destruction that they unleash. I mean, it was chilling enough just chalking it all up to their being morally misguided and just not knowing the truth, but to think that there is awareness on their part (which means that there’s accountability) just makes my heart and fingers go numb.

Zion in the midst of Babylon. Just forgo it–unnecessary connections to the world around us.

Far from it, when Elder Cook said “that’s the only thing you may be right about”, it was, in my mind, a jestful comment to be funny, and nothing more. As Elder Cook goes on in his talk he shows how he used such an argument to explain the philosophical and religious reasonings behind such a belief to Mick.

Please provide more credible sources for your quotes. The link on this one is very unofficial and doesn’t cite their source. A quick Google search yielded the following, which is close, but not close enough, to a real source. It says, “This text is not verbatim and there are substantial differences in the wording of the text version and the actual talk,” with the last two words linking to an audio recording of the talk.
